The Radio Pioneer Who Unleashed Rock 'n' Roll on the Airwaves and Ignited a Revolution!

Just had to add my “Hound” memories. I grew up in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, an hour’s drive from Buffalo to my house. The Hound was heard on radio WINE every night. Being a confirmed blues lover (after hearing Jimmy Reed’s “You’ve Got Me Dizzy”), I could count on the the Hound to give me(and my buddies) the blues.

We had to get our blues records from “Herb Ross – The Square Toss Boss” on William street (the records were not released in Canada at that time) and on one Saturday visit the Hound was there talking with Herb. He looked cool in a Hounds-tooth suit! and thanked us for coming all that way to visit Ross’s store. Nice.

I am still a fan today – and I hope that more of the radio shows are going to turn up for us to relive that time.
