I grew up on the East Side of Buffalo near Jefferson & Utica Streets… I listened faithfully and missed him when I left the area as a young woman in the early 1960’s. So glad to find this site! I grew up to love the blues and Billie Holiday but as a kid I loved Little Richard, Chuck Berry, early Ray Charles, Elvis! … Charles Brown’s “Merry Christmas Baby”… My first 78 record was Ruth Brown’s “Mama He Treats Your Daughter Mean.” Oh my! the memories! Yes Hound Dog was a big part of my growing up musically! Great to find this site!
