In the late 50’s, I was a teenager living in Melrose, Massachusets.
I was a record collector and into the doo-wop sound as well as blues, Little Richard, etc.

The Hound Dog was on WKBW at that time, and the signal was so strong that I could often get the station on my radio. and I would lie in bed at night listening The Hound. I used to like the Mythical, Magical, Musical Spotlight.

When playing a love song, Hound Dog used to talk about finding a fine pretty with a waist just big enough for “Hound Dog” to put his arm around.

I wrote him a fan letter, and I was very impressed that he took the time to write me back. I wish I still had that letter.

One weekend, a friend and I were on a hunt for R & B records and happened by chance to come across a Rock & Roll show in Hartford, CT. I believe it was the State Theater. We attended that great show. The only group I remember seeing was The Cellos (Japanese Sandman).
